A sample of recently successful executive-level search engagements:

Company:  Wilbur Ellis

Position:  Director of Software Engineering

Challenge:  A multi-billion dollar family owned agriculture business since 1921, in recent years Wilbur Ellis has developed a software platform to help farmers gain control of their businesses through the use of data.  Having relied on third-party consulting firms initially to help scope and architect the platform, the company made the strategic decision to begin hiring internal resources (software engineers) to continue to develop the technology and needed a strong engineering leader at the helm.

Outcome:  Makena was solicited to help define the role, conduct salary and market research, develop a list of potential candidates, and ultimately negotiate acceptable terms with the selected candidate.

Company: Parametric Portfolio Associates

Position:  Vice President, Infrastructure Services

Challenge:  A financial services firm with a unique focus on technology, Parametric, like many other highly-regulated companies moving towards cloud technologies, needed a strategic leader to manage the transition from on-prem to cloud technologies while ensuring the highest standards of security over their data and applications.

Outcome:  Partnering with the CTO and HR leadership, Makena successfully identified a candidate with a background and skill set that made him uniquely qualified for the role.  Through the initial introduction, assessment, and ultimately, offer stage, Makena provided hands-on support for both the candidate and the hiring team, resulting in a positive experience for all parties and a successful placement.
